About United States Air Force Memorial

Three stainless steel spires evoke jets in flight on a promontory next to Arlington National Cemetery, the tallest rising 270 feet. James Ingo Freed, who also designed the Holocaust Memorial Museum, created the memorial, and an eight-foot bronze Honor Guard statue stands by granite walls inscribed with themes of valor and values. From the parade ground you look over the Pentagon and the DC skyline, and the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial is a short walk away. Admission and parking are free, though spaces are limited; Columbia Pike is the only entrance.
