The USS Arizona Memorial is a 184-foot white structure that spans the sunken battleship, designed by Honolulu architect Alfred Preis and completed in 1962. The 45-minute program starts at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center and continues by Navy-operated shuttle boat, the only way to reach it. In the shrine room a marble wall carries the names of those killed aboard on December 7, 1941. Oil still seeps from the wreck below, known as the tears of the Arizona.
