About Wilmington and Western Railroad

The Wilmington and Western Railroad runs heritage trains over a 10.2-mile line between Wilmington and Hockessin through the Red Clay Valley. Trains are pulled by an antique steam locomotive, a historic diesel or a 1929 Pennsylvania Railroad Doodlebug railcar. Most rides take about 1.5 hours round trip and some run 2.5 hours, with themed trips for holidays and the seasons. You board at Greenbank Station, which opens an hour before the first train on operating days only, so book from the schedule first.
