The Historic Carousel and Museum in downtown Albany, Oregon, houses a community-carved carousel with over 40 hand-carved animals running on a restored 1909 Gustav Dentzel mechanism. The project began in 2004 and the full carousel building opened in 2017. A small on-site museum displays historic carousel animals and decorations, and visitors can watch carvers working on new pieces for the collection.
