Alchemy Art Center is a nonprofit art center outside Friday Harbor. At its Field Campus on Hawthorne Lane you can walk the lavender fields for free year-round and browse lavender products and work by island makers in the Alchemy Store & Gallery. The center also runs classes in ceramics, darkroom photography, printmaking, textiles and glass, plus artist talks, concerts and the summer Lavender Festival. The store and gallery open daily from 11am to 6pm in summer, with shorter hours the rest of the year.
