Anaconda is a small city in southwest Montana built around the historic Anaconda Copper Mining Company smelter, roughly halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The Discover Anaconda Visitor Center and Chamber of Commerce, housed in a replica railroad depot on East Park Avenue, provides area travel information, historical exhibits and a gift shop. The town is a gateway to the Pintler Scenic Route and the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness.
