About Missoula and Anaconda

Missoula and Anaconda anchor a stretch of western Montana that also takes in Philipsburg and the state capital, Helena. Missoula is the region's largest city, home to the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula and the Missoula People's Market. Anaconda, a former copper-smelting town founded by Marcus Daly, is now home to Montana Zipline Adventures, and nearby Philipsburg, a historic mining town in the Pintler Mountains, is home to the Sapphire Gallery and the Sweet Palace candy shop.
