Aspen Mountain

601 E Dean St · Aspen, CO

Why you should go…

Aspen Mountain, which locals call Ajax, rises straight out of downtown Aspen. The Silver Queen Gondola carries you from Gondola Plaza to the summit at 11,212 feet, where the Sundeck sits, and the new Nell Bell chairlift runs from the plaza to the top of Bell Mountain. Beginner terrain is limited, so it suits intermediate and expert skiers. The ski area opened in 1946, and mid-mountain Bonnie's is known for its pancakes.
