About Bay Plaza Shopping Center

The Mall at Bay Plaza is a shopping center in the Bronx that combines a three-level indoor mall with outdoor shops. Its tenants include national fashion, electronics, and department store brands, plus restaurants and a movie theater. The site also hosts seasonal events such as holiday tree lightings, photo sessions with Santa, and promotional giveaways. The center sits on the south side of Co-op City and was built in the late 1980s on land once occupied by the Freedomland U.S.A. amusement park.
