Run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, this cemetery in Edgewater Park Township began as a single acre in 1863 and grew over time. It was created to bury veterans from nearby hospitals and later saw many more burials once Philadelphia National Cemetery ran short of space. It is now closed to new interments except for subsequent burials in existing graves. Visitors can see graves of Medal of Honor recipients and a Revolutionary War captain whose remains were moved here. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
