About Carter Caves State Resort Park
Carter Caves is a Kentucky state resort park built around a cluster of caves along Tygarts Creek. Guided tours of Cascade Cave and X-Cave run daily all year, and Cascade Cave has an underground lake room and a 30-foot underground waterfall. Above ground, 33 miles of trails pass natural bridges, arches and a boxed canyon; the short Natural Bridge trail crosses the only natural bridge in Kentucky that carries a paved road. The park also has a lodge, cottages, a campground and 45-acre Smoky Lake for paddling.
