About Cathedral Caverns State Park
Cathedral Caverns is a 493-acre state park in Marshall County built around a cave once called Bat Cave, which Jacob Gurley opened to visitors in the 1950s. Guided tours last about 90 minutes and cover roughly 1.5 miles round trip, past Goliath, a stalagmite 45 feet tall and 243 feet around, a frozen waterfall and a stalagmite forest. The entrance is 126 feet wide and 25 feet high. The cave stays near 60 degrees all year, so bring a light layer. Above ground there are hiking trails, gem mining flumes, campsites and small cabins.
