About Cherry Plain State Park

Cherry Plain is a 175-acre state park in the southwest corner of the Town of Berlin, close to the Massachusetts line. Its day-use area sits on Black River Pond, with picnic pavilions, a playground, a boat launch and rowboat and kayak rentals. Anglers fish for bass, bullheads and pickerel. The campground has 10 trailer sites, 10 lakeside tent sites and 10 hike-in sites. Trails for hiking, biking and horses run into the surrounding Capital District Wildlife Management Area, more than 4,000 acres of woods where moose have been seen. Day use costs $6 per vehicle.
