Colton Point is a 368-acre state park on the west rim of Pine Creek Gorge, which is about 800 feet deep here. Its overlooks, shelters and stone fireplaces were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and Leonard Harrison State Park sits across the canyon on the east rim. The park reaches down to Pine Creek and the Pine Creek Rail Trail. Fall color peaks in the first weeks of October. Reach it by driving five miles south on Colton Road from US 6 near Ansonia.
