Dead Horse Point State Park

End of UT-313, southwest of Moab · Moab, UT

Why you should go…

Dead Horse Point State Park sits on a mesa outside Moab with a dramatic overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. Hiking trails follow the rim, and the Intrepid Trail System adds 17 miles of single-track for mountain bikes. Local lore says cowboys once used the point as a natural horse corral. It is an International Dark Sky Park, with campsites and yurts for staying the night.
