Florida National Cemetery covers about 513 acres in the Withlacoochee State Forest near Bushnell, roughly 50 miles north of Tampa. The Department of Veterans Affairs opened it in 1988, and it has become one of the busiest national cemeteries in the country. Its Memorial Pathway is lined with memorials to veterans, 51 of them as of 2018, most honoring those who served in 20th-century wars. A grave locator kiosk on site helps visitors find a name. The grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset.
