Fort Robinson is a former U.S. Army post in the Pine Ridge country of northwest Nebraska, now a 22,000-acre state park. You can see the 1887 Adobe Officers' Quarters, the reconstructed Cheyenne Outbreak Barracks tied to the 1879 breakout, and the plaque where Crazy Horse died in 1877. Open-top Jeep tours climb the buttes, a stagecoach carries riders around the post, and bison and longhorn herds graze nearby. The Fort Robinson Museum fills the 1905 post headquarters, and the Post Playhouse stages summer shows.
