North Platte sits along the Union Pacific line and includes the Golden Spike Tower overlooking the railroad's Bailey Yard, along with Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park. Sidney is the seat of Cheyenne County along Interstate 80, and Chadron, in the northwest, is home to the Museum of the Fur Trade, built on the site of an 1837 trading post with artifacts from the North American fur trade.
