The Galveston Railroad Museum occupies the former Santa Fe Railroad station at Rosenberg Avenue and the Strand and is operated by the nonprofit Center for Transportation and Commerce. Its collection includes more than 40 restored locomotives and rail cars, model train layouts and interactive exhibits on Texas railroading history. The museum owns roughly a mile of track and runs caboose rides on select days, weather permitting, and is open daily.
