About Goose Island State Park

Goose Island State Park covers 321 acres between St. Charles and Aransas bays, just north of Rockport. Its Big Tree is a southern live oak 44 feet tall with a 35-foot trunk circumference and a 90-foot crown, thought to be over 1,000 years old. Visitors camp, bird watch, launch boats and fish for redfish, trout and flounder from a 1,620-foot pier. The shore is shell, mudflat and marsh, so the park advises against swimming. Entry is $5 per adult per day.
