Huntington Beach State Park protects three miles of beach and coastal marsh south of Myrtle Beach, alongside Atalaya, the Moorish-Revival winter home of sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband. Birders come for one of the state's best spots to see painted buntings and wading birds along the marsh boardwalk. Nature trails, a campground, and a small nature center round out the park.
