The Indiana Medical History Museum sits in a historic building in Indianapolis and presents the early development of scientific psychiatry and modern medicine. Because the building is immersive, the museum admits visitors only on guided tours, and appointments are required. Visitors can also walk through the medicinal plant garden, native tree arboretum, and prairie patch, and those with limited mobility or hearing can watch video tours in spoken English or American Sign Language. Skeletons and preserved organs are on display, and large bags, strollers, and camera tripods are not permitted on the tour.
