About Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library

The museum honors Vonnegut, an Indianapolis-born novelist, artist, and veteran, and promotes his ideas about free expression and kindness toward others. Visitors can join a guided tour or explore the exhibits on their own with free audio tours. The building dates to the German-influenced 1800s and sits on Indiana Avenue, a historic jazz and Black business district. The site also runs a lending library, veteran and youth writing programs, and a bar lounge used for private events.
