Rocheport Trailhead, Katy Trail · Rocheport, MO
The Katy Trail follows the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad corridor for 240 miles between Machens and Clinton, most of it closely following the Missouri River. Bicyclists, walkers and horseback riders share the path, which has 26 trailheads and four restored depots. Just west of Rocheport, where the first segment opened in 1990, the trail passes through an old railroad tunnel. The section from Cooper County to St. Charles County is part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.
