About Ladew Topiary Gardens

Ladew Topiary Gardens is the 22-acre estate garden that huntsman Harvey S. Ladew began in the 1930s on his Harford County farm. More than 100 topiary sculptures fill 15 garden rooms, among them hounds and riders chasing a fox, swans and a Chinese junk. The manor house, open with the grounds since 1971, holds English antiques and an oval library, and a nature walk loops through the meadows. Adult admission is $22, and the gardens close on Wednesdays.
