About Rocks State Park

Rocks State Park is a Maryland state park in northern Harford County, set among rugged rock formations and wooded land. Its best-known feature is a large cliff overlooking Deer Creek, which the state bought in 1949 to protect. Visitors can hike several miles of trails, use multiple picnic areas, fish or wade in the creek, and climb the rock face after proper training. Kilgore Falls lies at a satellite property a short drive away and draws many visitors. Weekend and holiday visits in the warmer months require advance day-use reservations.
