Why you should go…

Lutsen Mountains is a ski area spread over four peaks, Eagle, Ullr, Mystery and Moose, in the Sawtooth Mountains on Lake Superior's North Shore. In winter you can ski or snowboard on dozens of trails. In summer and fall the Summit Express gondola carries you about 1,000 feet above Lake Superior to the top of Moose Mountain, and an alpine slide runs half a mile down Eagle Mountain. The resort opened in 1948.
