Minnesota's Iron Range lies in the northeastern part of the state, a chain of former mining towns that includes Eveleth, Hibbing, Chisholm and Mountain Iron. Mining in the area dates to around 1890, when towns grew up around iron ore deposits. The listed venue, the Iron Range Tourism Bureau in Eveleth, promotes the region's mine tours, hockey heritage sites and the paved Mesabi Trail.
