McMenamins Edgefield

2126 SW Halsey St · Troutdale, OR

Why you should go…

Edgefield was built in 1911 as the Multnomah County poor farm and now fills 74 acres in Troutdale, about 20 minutes east of Portland at the mouth of the Columbia Gorge. The hotel has more than 100 rooms with no TVs or phones, and the grounds hold a brewery, winery, distillery, several pubs and restaurants, Ruby's Spa and soaking pool, two par-3 golf courses, the Power Station movie theater, glassblowing and pottery studios and gardens. In summer the lawn hosts the Edgefield Concerts series. The grounds, gardens and pubs are open to non-guests.

Good to know

General stay guidance

Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.

  • Rates swing with the calendar

Midweek nights and shoulder-season dates are usually the kindest on price.

  • Read what is included

Parking, resort fees, and breakfast are the three extras that most often land on the final bill.

  • Ask at booking, not at the desk

Early check-in, late checkout, and room preferences go further when you request them in advance.

  • On a short trip, location wins

What you can reach on foot from the door matters more than the amenities list.
