Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens spans 47 acres of coastline south of Fort Bragg, California, with over 2,100 feet of Pacific frontage. Founded by Ernest and Betty Schoefer, the gardens opened to the public in 1966 and feature rhododendrons, dahlias, roses and magnolias alongside native plants, fern-filled canyons and coastal pine forest. Rhody's Garden Cafe offers seasonal lunch service, and leashed dogs are admitted free.
