About Michael C. Carlos Museum

The museum sits on the historic quadrangle of Emory University's main campus in Atlanta. Its collections span ancient art from Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Near East, Africa, and the ancient Americas, and the museum is regarded as holding the largest ancient art collection in the Southeast. The collections are housed in a building designed by architect Michael Graves, which is open to the public. Visitors can also see rotating exhibitions, such as the current show Compassion: What Moves You?, and take part in docent-led public tours.
