US 93 beside Hoover Dam, walkway parking on the Nevada side · Boulder City, NV
The Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge carries US 93 over the Colorado River beside Hoover Dam. Opened in October 2010, it is 1,900 feet long, with a 1,060-foot arch span, and stands about 890 feet above the river. Drivers cannot see the dam from the roadway, so park in the lot on the Nevada side and take the stairs or accessible ramps up to the pedestrian sidewalk. From there you get a different view of the dam and the river below.
General sightseeing guidance
Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.
The forecast is part of the ticket
Haze, low cloud, and rain flatten a view. Clear-day visits are worth rearranging your plans for.
Golden hour sells out first
Sunset slots at observation decks and cruises are the first to go, so book those further ahead.
Dress a layer warmer
It is always breezier up high and out on the water than it feels at street level.
Timed entry is common
Plenty of landmarks release tickets in windows rather than at the door, so check before you walk over.
