Mine Kill State Park covers 500 acres in the Town of Blenheim, beside the Blenheim-Gilboa Reservoir, and opened in 1973. It is named for Mine Kill creek, which drops 80 feet through a narrow gorge; the falls overlook has its own parking area a quarter mile south of the main entrance. The park has 8 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, a section of the Long Path, a year-round disc golf course and an Olympic-size pool. Entry and the pool are free, paid for by the New York Power Authority.
