26275 Main Street, Beaver Island, MI 49782 · Beaver Island, MI
The Print Shop was built in 1850 by followers of James Jesse Strang, who used it to print the region's first newspaper, the Northern Islander, along with religious tracts. The museum tells the story of Strang's island kingdom and its Mormon residents, the Odawa history of the islands, the later Irish settlement, and island music and women's history. Exhibits include the Sepeshy mural, Native American baskets, household artifacts, and natural history displays such as a stuffed beaver. The building is now the general museum of the Beaver Island Historical Society.
