Nickerson State Park covers 1,900 acres of pine woods and kettle ponds on Cape Cod, once part of the Nickerson family estate. Eight freshwater ponds, the biggest being Cliff Pond, are open for swimming, paddling and fishing, and four are stocked with trout all year. An 8-mile bike path inside the park links to the 26-mile Cape Cod Rail Trail. There are more than 400 campsites plus yurts. Parking from late May to mid-October costs $8 for Massachusetts plates and $30 for others.
