41 South Orleans Rd., Orleans, MA 02653 · Orleans, MA
This museum occupies a former telegraph station on the corner of Cove Road and Route 28 in Orleans. Visitors can join guided tours that display early transatlantic undersea cables, telegraph instruments, maps, and related keepsakes. The site is tied to moments in US communications history, including messages relayed during World War I and news of Charles Lindbergh's 1927 Paris landing reaching America. Admission is free, though the museum welcomes donations to maintain its exhibits and preserve its equipment and documents.
