About North Alabama Railroad Museum

The North Alabama Railroad Museum, incorporated in 1966, is run entirely by volunteers and aims to preserve railroad history in North Alabama and South Central Tennessee. Its centerpiece is the Chase Depot, a small union depot that once served more than one railroad. The grounds hold more than thirty pieces of freight and passenger equipment and three historic locomotives. Visitors can take a self-guided walking tour, and on operating days they can ride a vintage train over the museum's Mercury & Chase Railroad, which runs seasonally. Train rides and donations fund the museum.
