About Ohio River Museum

The Ohio River Museum interprets the history of the Ohio River and sits on the Muskingum River near its meeting point with the Ohio, in Marietta. The official site says the museum and W.P. Snyder are currently closed while a new building goes up. Northwest Territory Museum Society, Ohio History Connection, and the Washington County Public Library are partnering on the project, which will share space with the library's local history and genealogy collections. The planned facility will host permanent and traveling exhibits, programs, and meeting rooms. The museum opened in 1941 and is an Ohio History Connection historical site.
