This 6,250-acre park follows Oil Creek between Titusville and Oil City, where Edwin Drake drilled the first successful commercial oil well in the United States in 1859. Forest has grown back over the old boomtowns, and a museum, displays and trails tell the history. A paved 9.4-mile rail-trail suits bikes, the Gerard Hiking Trail makes a 36-mile loop, and the Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad runs excursion trains through the park. Pennsylvania state parks charge no entrance fee.
