Prairiewood is a 600-acre private tallgrass prairie preserve in the Flint Hills, about a mile west of Manhattan. You can stay overnight in lodgings such as Kingfisher Cottage, the HomePlace suites, the RetreatHouse or the StoneHouse, and walk miles of hiking trails across restored native prairie. The property also hosts weddings, retreats and meetings in spaces like the Blue Sage Barn. It opened in January 2010 with a single guest house and has grown since.
