Samara is a mid-century house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Purdue University professor John Christian and his wife Catherine. The couple wanted a home suited to hosting faculty, staff, and students that could also grow with their family. Completed in 1956 near the end of Wright's career, the roughly 2,200-square-foot house incorporates more than 40 of his architectural ideas. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2015. Indiana Landmarks and the John E. Christian Family Memorial Trust jointly care for the property and share its story with visitors. The house sits near Interstate 65 about midway between Chicago and Columbus, Indiana.
