The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre sits beside Lock 3 of the Welland Canal at 1932 Welland Canals Parkway. You can watch ships lock through, which takes about 20 minutes, and see exhibits on the canal and local history. The museum is open 9am to 5pm seven days a week, and admission is by donation, with $5 suggested. Ship times are posted by the St. Lawrence Seaway, and the canal closes for winter maintenance from early January to mid-March.
