About Thornton Triangle

Thornton Triangle is listed by Cincinnati Parks as the city's smallest park, covering about a hundredth of an acre in the Sayler Park neighborhood. Its main feature is the J. Fitzhugh Thornton Memorial, a zinc sculpture on a cast-iron pedestal, made in 1912 and given by Eliza Thornton in memory of her husband. The statue has a rough history: it was partly submerged in the 1937 flood, was struck by a car, and was sold to an out-of-state antique dealer before local residents tracked it down and returned it to the triangle.
