Wall Drug Store opened as a small pharmacy in 1931 and became famous for offering free ice water to road-weary travelers during the Depression. It has grown into a sprawling complex of cowboy-themed shops, restaurants, an art gallery and an 80-foot brontosaurus sculpture next to Badlands National Park. The attraction still offers free ice water and draws more than two million visitors a year.
