The Asheville Art Museum sits on Pack Square in downtown Asheville and focuses on American art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Its permanent collection of more than 8,000 works includes studio craft, art connected to nearby Black Mountain College and work by Cherokee artists. The museum reopened in 2019 after an expansion to 54,000 square feet, partly in the 1925 building that once held Pack Memorial Library. General admission is $20, with $15 for seniors and $10 for students and children 6 to 17. There is no museum lot, so use the nearby city decks or street parking.
