About Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Nature Center

Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary, run with Calvert County Parks and Recreation, is a wetland preserve where visitors can walk a quarter-mile boardwalk among bald cypress trees. The site has a nature center with interactive exhibits on local wildlife and regional history, picnic space, and an audio tour of the swamp. Naturalist-led programs run here and at nearby Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm, and groups of ten or more need reservations. Dogs are not allowed in the park.
