Blue Mounds, WI
Blue Mound State Park sits on a high hill in southern Wisconsin and is known for wide views over nearby river valleys, the Driftless Area, and the city of Madison. Its two observation towers are a major draw. The park has more than 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing, plus a family campground, bike-in campsites connected to the Military Ridge State Trail, picnic areas and shelters, and a summer swimming pool with a splash pad. A rustic cabin is designed for visitors with disabilities. Admission is handled through a vehicle pass rather than a per-person fee.
