This long-distance footpath runs roughly 1,200 miles through Wisconsin and passes many of the state's notable glacial and geologic features. The trail crosses lands traditionally tied to 15 Tribes. Volunteers, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, local partners, and the National Park Service all help build and maintain it. Some state and county parks along the route charge their own entrance fees, and camping may require permits or fees.
