Lubbock's museum for its most famous native son fills a 1928 railroad depot. The guitar-shaped Holly gallery shows the Fender Stratocaster from his final concert, the glasses he wore when he died, stage outfits and childhood homework, and other galleries hold the Texas Musician Hall of Fame and changing art shows. A giant pair of horn-rimmed glasses marks the entrance, and the house of Crickets drummer Jerry Allison, where the two wrote songs, stands on the grounds. General admission is $10, and the Fine Arts Gallery is free.
