Cabin John Regional Park is run by Montgomery Parks and suits families, sports players, and dog owners. Visitors can join environmental nature programs, ride the miniature train, or relax at picnic and playground areas. Children often head to the Adventure Playground. Athletic fields, indoor tennis, and lighted outdoor courts serve sports fans, and the fully enclosed Cabin John Ice Rink offers skating even in summer. Campers can stay overnight at one of seven walk-in campgrounds. More than five miles of hiking and biking trails run through the park. A separate dog park has areas for small and large dogs. A trailhead and parking lot renovation, scheduled to run into summer 2026, will leave part of the lot open during work.
